Do negative thoughts stop medications from working?

    Related Topic
I was just wondering something since it has been causing me a great deal of concern lately. I experience negative thoughts such as "the only way medication could work if you ever needed it is if you split up from your partner, or do something horrible."

Basically having thoughts like this, and that if I don't act on them, they would prevent the medication from ever working for me if I ever needed it.

So I was wondering, does having thoughts like this have the power to ACTUALLY prevent medications from working and being effective? (speaking any medication here, nothing specific)

The thought of it possibly being true is freaking me out a bit! But I doubt it is true!
