I was told that I don't need to have a Pap test as I am no longer sexually active. Is this true? Should I still have pap smears? I'm 56 years and been through menopause. My GP had difficulties founding my cervix and it was also painful so referred me to the gynecologist but was told by gynaecologist do not need to have one as I'm not been sexually active for 20 years? Can someone advise if this is correct or should I see another gynaecologist?
