ND YAG laser treatment of hidradenitis

My dermatologist refuses to use the ND-YAG laser, or any other laser such as CO2 or PDT, for the treatment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Antibiotics have not been helpful. Claims laser is not the answer despite many online journal articles saying otherwise. Please explain the efficacy of laser treatment for this condition.

    Thanks

There are many different treatment options for HS and Laser is one option.

unfortunately no single therapy is effective for all people with HS- and for every published case of success with laser there is likely a patient who had recurrence despite laser.

Centers in the USA that use a lot of laser for HS (Such as Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit) have high success rates and this suggests that success is based upon the experience of the dermatologist treating you.

Often a combination of therapies are needed to treat HS (both medical and surgical) and no therapy is 100% guaranteed to prevent future disease flares.
