  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Need advice on having low ovarian reserve.

I'm 35yo, have an AMH result of 5.8omol/L. I do not have a partner at the moment but would like to have my own child in the future. Keen to know about the options on how to preserve eggs and is that an age limit of doing that?

    Hi

You should consider ovulation induction with egg pick up and freezing of the eggs.

This would give you options for when you want to conceive in the future, especially if you have difficulties doing so naturally. The issue with the eggs is not only the reserves, but also the quality of the eggs that usually declines after the age of 37. At your current age, the egg quality is most likely good (definitely better than at an older age).

Therefore I would recommend consulting with a fertility specialist to discuss all your options and the best way to achieve a pregnancy for when you are ready.

    All the best.
