I've had my braces on for 4 years now (they were meant to be on for 2) and, in my opinion, my teeth are straight and I'm happy with them. Loads of people ask me when I'm getting my braces off because my teeth 'look perfect' to them. Two months ago dentist told me I would get them off today, however they now want them to stay on to close a 1mm gap between an incisor and canine. I literally broke down during the appointment because I'm so frustrated as all I want is to get them off because it's been so long and I'm happy with how my teeth look. Should I ask to get them removed or will it cause further problems?
