How does a seton band help in curing anal fistula or labia abscess?

I had started feeling pain in my left pelvic bone. One day, it got worse and I felt some yellow discharge from the anus. I went into emergency and got operated the next day for abscess in my left labia. Problem didn't get fixed I was having pus discharge everyday from the cut on labia. After 11 months, on 7 April, 2015, I had two procedures as I developed a gall stone in my gall bladder, so, I had a laparoscopic surgery for gall bladder and for labia they put the seton band and mentioned about fistula but still I am having pus coming out from previous cut in labia and seton band is very painful. Can you please help me?
