    What are these medical terms in relation to a sinus operation?

    I am having a operation on my sinus's. They said my Prosthetics are Gelfoam, Surgicel & Kaltostat. What are these?? Look forward to hearing from you.

    These items are dressings that are sometimes placed at the end of the sinus operation. They help to minimise bleeding and may promote healing. Some of them dissolve with time and others may need to be removed by the surgeon. It's best to discuss with your surgeon whether prosthetics or dressings will be used, prior to surgery.
