If the exercise is gentle and you start slowly and you build up slowly over a period of time, there is a very low risk of exacerbating COPD symptoms. If exercise does make COPD symptoms worse this is usually due to doing too much exercise and exercising in cold weather. If you start slowly, listen to your body and stop as soon as you get any flare ups you should be able to gradually build your exercise program over a period of weeks.
