  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

    What are dental implants?

  • Find a professional to answer your question

  • Dental implants are mostly made of titanium alloy. They are postheses which are surgically placed in your jaw bone to help anchor a crown or denture.

Some dental implants are temporary anchors used in orthodontic management to help move teeth. The implants are removed once the teeth have been positioned in the desired location.
