    Is it normal to have blurry vision after a night of drinking?

    The day after I have been drinking I notice that my vision is not quite as sharp… is this normal?

    Our functional vision skills system that allows us to locate where in space we want to direct the eyes to look (eye teaming) and then to identify what is it we are looking at (accommodation) is highly dependent on very fine eye muscle control.

    So the effects of alcohol or stress can have an impact on the accuracy of this system to perform.

    It usually indicates a weakness to start with often impacting ability to perform to potential in a normal work or study environment.

    Additionally there could be a dehydration effect of the cornea due to the alcohol which will create some blur until normal hydration takes over again.
