Eyelid twitch may be associated with general tiredness, stress, allergy, excessive caffeine intake, “dry eye”, or magnesium deficiency.

Treatment options include relaxation, oral or topical antihistamine, reducing caffeine intake, lubricating eyedrops, hot compresses, magnesium dietary supplementation.
Magnesium supplementation may be achieved by either tablets (600mg per day) or from food rich in the element eg dairy products, leafy green vegetables (eg spinach), or fruit (eg banana).

If such treatment options are unsuccessful, botulinum-toxin injections as often as every three months or so should provide relief from intolerable eyelid twitching.
