    Gastritis may present with a number of symptoms including abdominal pain or discomfort, nausea, vomiting, vomiting of blood, passage of black bowel motions (which may indicate bleeding), bloating, heartburn or indigestion.

    Conversely however, may patients with gastritis may have no symptoms, hence it is helpful to exclude other pathologies before attributing symptoms to gastritis.
