    To get CF you have to inherit a gene from each parent. 

    We recommend couples planning to have a child be tested to see if they are both carriers, this way they can make more informed decisions.

    Even if both parents are carriers the likelihood of them having a child with cystic fibrosis is about 1 in 4.
