    There has been a lot of discussion lately in the news regarding cyber bullying, what is the best way to report cyber bullying if your child is experiencing this and is it best to inform the school? Is this a subject that does need to be taken more seriously by parents and teachers?

    Cyber bullying is illegal. It can be reported to the police, the social media site that is being used (ie FaceBook, Twitter, etc) and the principal if the children are from the same school, or even the Department of Education.

    It can also be good for parents to educate themselves and their children around the privacy settings on these sites as sometimes this in itself can minimise bullying.

    It is difficult to be much more specific as each case of bullying needs individual attention - it is not a generic issue, but the information on the website above is good as is the following links
