HealthShare offers a Practitioner Ratings feature to allow patients to highlight their experiences with their practitioner post-consultation.
The service has been designed to comply with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency’s (AHPRA) rules regarding patient testimonials (http://www.ahpra.gov.au/Publications/Advertising-resources/Check-and-correct/Testimonial-tool.aspx). Only patients that have recently been for a consultation are able to submit a rating. No free-text feedback will be displayed publicly, but practitioners will receive a summary of all patient feedback in their private HealthShare dashboard.
HealthShare completed a detailed review prior to the launch of Practitioner Ratings in order to design the most optimal and regulatory-compliant workflow. Our intent is for Practitioner Ratings:
Important considerations include:
Once a practitioner claims their HealthShare profile, they are provided with a unique rating URL. Their practice is then able to send this URL to patients after they have completed their consultation as a part of their follow up communications (via SMS, in-clinic tablet or email). The questions asked are as follows:
Patients are not asked to provide their first or last name when submitting their rating.
Only patients that have been recently consulted by the Practitioner. A patient can provide a rating once they receive the practitioner’s unique rating URL.
Once a practitioner has received 5 or more Practitioner Ratings. We set this threshold to ensure a minimum number of ratings has been received before an overall rating is presented.
Any free-text feedback submitted with the rating will be passed onto the practitioner privately through their HealthShare dashboard. HealthShare doesn’t make this publicly available as the AHPRA regulations do not allow clinical feedback of a practitioner to be publicly displayed.
