    Not always.

Depending on the cyst type and its stability over time:

    Some cysts need no follow-up

Others are monitored for several years

A small minority need ongoing surveillance

Management is tailored to the individual — including age, health status, and whether intervention would ever actually be needed.

What symptoms should I watch for?

Most pancreatic cysts cause no symptoms.

However, you should seek medical review if you develop:

    Unexplained weight loss

    Persistent upper abdominal pain

    Recurrent pancreatitis

New jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes)

These symptoms do not always mean something serious — but they do warrant assessment.
