Haemorrhoid banding (rubber band ligation) is a quick, minimally invasive procedure used to treat internal haemorrhoids. A small rubber band is placed around the base of the haemorrhoid using a specialised applicator inserted through a short scope. The band cuts off the blood supply to the haemorrhoid, causing it to shrink, die, and fall off naturally within 5 to 10 days.
