    Burnout and depression can look similar from the inside — exhaustion, flatness, dreading things you used to manage easily. The difference often shows up in what happens when you rest. If a proper break helps, you're likely looking at burnout. If nothing shifts, or the heaviness follows you into every part of life, it may be something more. You don't need to diagnose yourself before reaching out. That's part of what a psychologist is for — working out what's actually going on, and what will help.
