    Frozen shoulder typically progresses through three stages:

    Freezing stage (2–9 months): Gradual onset of pain, worsening at night, with progressive loss of movement

    Frozen stage (4–12 months): Pain may lessen, but stiffness remains severe, limiting daily activities

    Thawing stage (6 months–2 years): Gradual return of movement

    Movement restrictions are particularly noticeable when trying to reach overhead, behind the back, or out to the side.
