In ADHD, the brain circuits that control focus, planning, and impulse control don’t work as smoothly. This is linked to lower levels of important brain chemicals, especially dopamine and noradrenaline, in the prefrontal cortex (the part that helps us concentrate and think ahead). ■ Think of it like a weak Wi-Fi signal in the brain — messages between brain cells don’t always get through clearly. This makes it harder to stay on task, ignore distractions, and manage impulses.
