The treatment area should be free of makeup or antiperspirant. If you are receiving botulinum toxin injections for migraines, bringing a hair tie can help the physician access the necessary injection sites. For axillary hyperhidrosis, where multiple skin injections are required, it is recommended to apply a local anaesthetic cream to the underarms 30 minutes prior to treatment. For palmar or plantar hyperhidrosis, which involve more sensitive injection areas, a mild sedative such as methoxyflurane is often used. Your doctor will discuss this prior to scheduling your treatment.

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before the procedure, as it may increase redness and bruising.

Ensure your doctor is aware of all medications you are taking, particularly blood thinners or anticoagulants, as they may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
