Sarcoma is a rare type of malignant (cancerous) tumour that develops in bone or soft tissues, such as fat, muscles, nerves, connective tissue or blood vessels. Soft tissue support and connect all the organs and body structures.
Sarcomas can develop anywhere in the body and are often located deep within the limbs. They are frequently misdiagnosed as benign (non-cancerous) lumps, sports injuries, or growing pains in young people.
