Gastroenterologist
Yes, if you see blood on wiping, on the toilet paper, in your stool, or in the toilet, please tell your general practitioner who may suggest an urgent referral to a gastroenterologist. Rectal bleeding can occur due to haemorrhoids or an anal fissure, but more concerning causes such as bowel cancer or inflammatory bowel disease need to be considered.
