Can EMDR or Schema Therapy help with self-esteem or relationship issues?

Absolutely. Many clients I work with don’t come in saying “I have trauma” but instead struggle with:

    • Feeling not good enough

    • People-pleasing or avoidance

    • Choosing the same unhealthy relationships

    • Inner criticism and low confidence

EMDR helps reprocess the root of those beliefs, while Schema Therapy helps identify and change the “life traps” driving those patterns.

Schema Therapy has been shown to reduce maladaptive schemas and improve interpersonal functioning (Arntz et al., 2006).
