    Yes. You don’t need to remember every detail for EMDR to be effective. EMDR works with the emotions, body sensations, and beliefs connected to the experience—even when memory is fragmented or fuzzy (which is common in trauma).

    Studies show EMDR can be effective even when trauma memories are implicit or somatically stored (Shapiro, 2018).
