The Pelvi-Ureteric Junction (PUJ) is a part of the urinary system that connects the kidney to the ureter and bladder. A PUJ obstruction, whether congenital or acquired, can cause pain, stones, infections, and kidney loss. If significant pain or poor kidney function occurs, unblocking may be necessary. Robotic pyeloplasty is the preferred method, where the obstructed segment is removed and a new connection is made between the kidney and ureteric drainage system.
