Orthopaedic Surgeon
Your doctor will take a medical history, ask about your symptoms, perform a physical examination (including checking the shoulder's range of movement and stability), and examine radiographs (X-rays).
The calcium deposits can usually be seen on X-rays. Advanced imaging, such as MRI or ultrasound, is often necessary to rule out other causes, such as rotator cuff tear or arthritis.
