Maybe. After surgery your diet will be different as you will be eating less food overall and making better food choices with a dieticians help so it is likely there will be some change. Most patients report no concerns with their bowels. Some people can experience constipation early on as they recover from surgery and some patients notice an increase in bowel motions with a bypass in particular. For most people, these things settle down. It is rare for people to have a long term troubling change with their bowels and you should speak to your surgeon if this worries you for advice.
