    Endometriosis is common. It affects up to 1 in 5 of women of childbearing age, with the vast majority having children. 50% of women with endometriosis do not have symptoms. It is advised that you discuss your symptoms or concerns with your Doctor early, so that appropriate referral can be made to establish a diagnosis and offer treatment. Endometriosis tends to reduce fertility and could have a significant impact on the quality of life. Act early. Ultrasound and laparoscopy are important diagnostic tools.
