    Excess skin after lap band removal

    Does medicare or full private health care pay for costs of an operation tummy tuck after lap band surgery? I had the operation in 2011 April and until now have lost and kept off 40kgs but have a very droopy tummy now.

    Hello, thank you for your question.

    Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is covered for significant weight loss or any of the complications of the weight loss.  

    It is no longer covered for post pregnancy related compications unfortunately.
