Stye is a blocked oil gland in the eyelid margin. There are about 20 oil glands in each eyelid. Oil produced by meibomian(oil) glands is.essential to prevent tears from evaporating. They can get blocked by dust, make up etc. The best way to maintain optimum oil gland function and to keep them un clogged is to apply hot compress on eyes once daily for approximatelly 5 minutes and then massage both lids with index finger in circular motion.
