A pap test will tell you if you have cancerous or pre-cancerous cells on your cervix which may indicate cervical cancer. But alone its use as a screening for vaginal cancer(completely different to cervical) it is of no positive benefit.for vaginal cancer you would need other tests such as a biopsy and tests like MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)which are the tests used to diagnose this type of cancer. If you ever have anything DIFFERENT occuring in your vagina or surrounding it, no matter how insignificant it may seem I urge you to see a health professional  quickly,as the earlier this type of cancer is diagnosed and treated the better the outcome. These tests are non painful and minimally invasive.
