Fabry disease is a rare disease and its symptoms are similar to other common conditions, hence, this can sometimes lead to misdiagnosis. Symptoms of Fabry disease include: pain or burning in the hands or feet, impaired sweating, oedema, exercise intolerance, angiokeratomas (small red or purple skin lesions), clouded vision, ringing in the ears, dizziness, stomach pain, mild to severe diarrhoea and/or constipation. Symptoms are known to worsen as the individual ages.
