From my experience, aneurysms are only found when they erupt or have a slow bleed, The worst headach you can imagine, Don't wait, go to the hospital when this happens. In the discovery of my aneurysm, I developed Bells Pasly and was sent for a CT Scan to rule out a stroke. I was extremly lucky as no headaches or other symptoms. However I could not see a doctor sending you for a CT Scan just to see if you have an aneurysm, that is why it is only discovered when they erupt or have a slow bleed.

I have just been accidently diagnosed with a 1.8 cm aneuysm  in my right renal artery and also a kidney stone after having a CT scan for completely different problems not related at all to renal.
The diagnosis was quite a shock and will be seeing a uro;ogist in the very near future.

    Hi Anne,

You are very lucky that they have found your aneurysm, mine was in the brain and picked up the same way. I use to think aneurysms were only found in the brain until mine was found and then I was told by several people that they can occur any where in the body. Urgent attention is required and I hope your doctor is fast tracking your treatment. If not keep at him/her. I had mine fixed 2 years ago and every thing is normal now. I have also spoken to a man who had one in his back and that was over 30 years ago so treatment is successful and long lasting. Good luck.

Luckily the urologist just rang and I have an appointment next Tuesday so that was pretty quick.
Thank you for your reply Jan
    Best wishes
