Sophie Crapper started her Physiotherapy career at Bendigo Healthcare Group where she did a rotation in the hand clinic. It was here that she developed a passion for Hand Therapy. Since graduating in 2009 Sophie Crapper has specialised in the assessment and management of upper limb injuries.
Sophie Crapper has made the sea change from Melbourne, where she was working in a private Hand Therapy Practice. She has worked alongside specialist hand surgeons and been involved in post operative rehabilitation of a wide variety of patients from elite athletes including AFL players to those who have had workplace accidents with multi-trauma injuries. She has a special interest in post surgical management.
Working in a private setting has enabled Sophie Crapper to develop thorough assessment and diagnosis skills of upper limb injuries. She has a particular interest in wrist injuries and was recently a co-presenter at a course presented to Physiotherapists and Hand Therapists on assessment and management of wrist conditions.
Sophie’s other clinical areas of interest include upper limb rehabilitation of all sports especially AFL, netball and golf, musicians, work related musculoskeletal disorders and joint hypermobility syndromes. Sophie combines the use of her skills in splinting, manual therapy, dry needling and exercise prescription, with a strong emphasis on self management to ensure optimal long term outcomes are achieved.
