"Everything relationship" ... Relationships with partners, children, parents, co-workers, managers and last but not least ... with ourselves! Relationships do not come with a manual, yet are paramount for happiness. How did we learn what to do and what to expect in relationships, in what circumstances did we learn how to deal with certain situations? Often, our parents were modelling behaviours, sometimes averse childhood conditions and challenging family relationships paved our way to how we relate to others and to ourselves. For instance, we may look after other people's needs very well but struggle with self care.

Frank Breuer is a Sydney based Clinical Psychologist and the director of New Paths Psychology. In his 20 years of therapeutic work, Frank has found a way of integrating most popular therapeutic approaches. Since 1996, he has worked in hospitals and community services, but has spent most of his professional life in private practice (since 2000). He established New Paths Psychology in Hornsby in March 2010.
Frank completed a degree in Clinical Psychology at university, then a five year specialist training program in Psychological therapy for adults in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies.
Frank has a special interest in improving family relationships, whatever reasons impact negatively on the relationship quality, including difficulties to become independent from own parents, living together as a couple, pregnancy questions or empty nesters. Also, common presentations like anxiety and depression often reduce the quality of relationships significantly.
Clients and colleagues value Frank’s high level of integrity, expertise and loyalty in life. His calmness and safe nature are much appreciated by clients.
Frank’s psychology training is equally extensive as the training of a Medical Specialist, i.e. 11 years until he completed his specialist training in 2003 in Germany to be granted the national license as Psychological therapist. Since then ongoing professional development hours have accrued to over 1200 hours, in several contemporary therapy approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapies, Family Systems Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Systemic Constellations and Clinical Hypnosis.
He has completed trainings
Completion of 6 years Masters in Clinical Psychology (Ruhr-University of Bochum, Germany)
Completion of 5 years Post-graduate Psychotherapy training for adults in Cognitive Therapy (KLVT, Cologne, Germany)
Fully licensed as Psychotherapist in Germany (Approbation) since 2003, Full registration with APHRA since 2009
Specialist Clinical Psychology Provider with Medicare
In excess of 1,000 hours additional, ongoing professional development.
As part of the clinical services offered, Family Constellations workshops are fabulous to complementing individual therapy.
