Ian is a consultant Urological surgeon treating all aspects of adult Urology. He has particular expertise in Uro-oncology and robotic surgery with a special interest in cancers of the prostate, bladder and kidney, as well as stone disease and bladder dysfunction.
After completing all of his medical and Urology training in Queensland, Ian completed 18 months of subspecialist Uro-oncology and robotic surgery fellowship training. 6 months initially spent with the Queensland Robotic Surgery Unit at Greenslopes Hospital was followed by 12 months of training at the Bristol Urological Institute in the United Kingdom. This is one of the largest, and busiest robotic Urology units in the UK, and is an accredited robotic training site of the Robotic Urology Section of the European Association of Urology.
He has taken up a public visiting consultant appointment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Redlands Hospital and providing outreach services to Rockhampton. He offers private consulting, inpatient care and surgical services at Greenslopes Private Hospital. He also consults at Mater Health Centre Brookwater and holds an appointment as visiting medical officer at Mater Private Hospital Springfield.
