The AF Association - Australia provides information, support and access to established, new or innovative treatments for Atrial Fibrillation (AF).
AF is an irregular heart rhythm. It occurs when chaotic electrical activity develops in the upper chambers of the heart (the atria). As a result, the atria no longer beat in an organised, regular rhythm, so the patient’s pulse is irregular and as a result, the pumping of the heart is less efficient. Across Australia approximately 400,000 people suffer with atrial fibrillation.
