    Bowel Cancer Recurrence

    Hello

I am 41 yrs old and have recently been diagnosed with a recurrence of bowel cancer after 13 years in remission. I was first diagnosed at 27 yrs old, I had surgery, chemo and radiation resulting in a permanent colostomy.

The past 13 years have been fantastic, my colostomy has never been an issue. I have a very active life, riding my horses, walking three dogs twice a day and generally I don't sit still.

I started to feel very lethargic a month or so ago and I put it down to working too much etc. Until five weeks ago I woke with incredible stomach pain and told my husband to take me to hospital. Within 8 hrs I was told it had returned. It was a shock but like last time I will fight hard.

Unfortunately though I do not have the option of surgery to remove the tumour. I am currently on chemo every 12 days, hooked up to a cadd pump for 48 hrs then a round of Aviston also. I have had no side effects at all.

Would love to hear from anyone with a similar story or advice.
