Lap band has moved - surgery to remove or adjust?

I've had my lap band for 17 years, and up until now I have had no problems. I have achieved a good weight, and a BMI of 22.

Recently, I had a virus and threw up and afterwards, my eating has been limited to like it was when I first had it put in. My GI doctor ordered an endoscopy, because of the coughing I was experiencing. He found that my oesophagus was full of mucus. He ordered a CAT scan and found that the band had moved up about an inch.

I'm still experiencing mucus coughs at night, preventing me from sleeping. Has this happened to anyone else? What was the fix? An adjustment? Removal?

I've got an appointment scheduled with the surgeon who can remove it. I also have an appt with someone who can adjust it.
