Information on my anaphylactic allergy to salicylates
My allergy to salicylates is, I think, mild. I have had about five anaphylactic reactions over many years. I am wondering if the reduction in episodes lately has anything to do with me experiencing menopause. Are hormones linked to sensitivity?
Also, are my reactions accumulative, in that if I have a lot of salicylates in a short period, this would result in a reaction?
I am obese. Since having my four children in the nineties, my weight increased steadily. I have tried to gradually reduce my weight, which was working recently, when one day it had shot up more than ever! (Any weight loss has ended up with me putting on more weight than before.) This distressed me a lot.
Though I have always been against it, I am now considering surgery. Is this the way to go?
