I have a 7 years old son. He was born at 26 weeks and eventually went on to be discharged with ventilation via his tracheotomy when he was one. When he was about three, they took the trachea out and a few months later surgically closed the stoma. The ENT mentioned something about scaring tissue being removed from in his throat and said it may come back but would be unlikely.
Fast forward to now, he sees a Speech therapist and she said that when my son talks, he is very strained in his throat when he speaks.
Should I take my son back to see the ENT? Do you think its something in his medical history that is causing this?
My daughter is 6 and in year 1 she is having difficulty processing sounds correctly. She also snores and has a cough at night an in the morning. Nov 11 she had a perforated ear drum with heavy mucus…
