Continous Cough with Phelgm and Wheezing

I have been suffering from cough with thick phlegm and wheezing sounds when phlegm accumulation occurs. I took amoxicillin plus clavulanic acid for ten days and corticosteroid tablets for five days. It got better, however, just a week later the cough came back with fever and I apparently injured my ribs as well. Then my GP put me on famciclovir for one week. I did X-rays before and after the treatment but the spots for pneumonia, as the specialist said, haven't gone away but spread a little. Now the cough is less but it is still there.

I am worried now, what could be causing my cough?
