Unable to diagnose condition in 26 year old

My son was a sporty active 26 year old until 2 months ago. He started with some pain in his big toe but gout was ruled out. 6 or so blood tests later and after visiting a rheumatologist, immunologist and infectious disease doctor and over two months later, he still has acute pain in his joints and extreme tiredness but no diagnosis of his condition. His blood tests and body scan are clear. He has done 2 rounds of antibiotics which made him feel better and has just started steroids.

It is very debilitating for him - from being a full-time worker, he can now work for 3 hours a couple of times a week. Any advice?
