I am after advice if I should have the Hartmann Reversal or not. I am 57 years old with COPD and coeliac disease. I have severe problems with constipation and have known not to open my bowels ranging from 3 - 8 weeks at the time of my bowel rupture. I had not opened my bowels for 3 weeks and was taking laxatives with no bowel movement which led to a bowel rupture. In the past, I have had several enemas and suppositories with very little success. I am extremely worried that if I have the reversal and it happens again I might not be as lucky to survive. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated
