  • Q&A with Australian Health Practitioners

Am I suffering from neuritis or neuropathy?

Over the past 3 weeks, I have been experiencing pins and needles regularly in my fingertips travelling up to my elbow. It is very painful and I can't grip properly. I now have a continuous tingling and tickling sensation most of the time, all the way up my right arm and my face. It feels cold and makes me want to scratch. Also, my right foot and leg usually feel cold - has been like this for over 4 years now. I have been getting a sudden sharp shooting pain from my shoulder to my neck, for 3 years. I am 66 years old but otherwise reasonably healthy. Recent blood test did not reveal any autoimmune issues. I am worried as these sensations are progressing rapidly.
