Therapist for family of origin issues such as co-dependency

I don't know what kind of therapy is needed for family of origin issues such as enmeshment and co-dependency. The current problem is a relationship breakdown occurring between adult children and parents. Adult children becoming aware/trying to set boundaries with codependent parents who are in denial. I have noticed repetitive patterns with my own attachments to friendships - putting too much reliance on one person. Also, have problems with my own assertiveness. Who should I see - psychologist, clinical psychologist, psychotherapy, counsellor?
