Can I get a PEG tube instead of constant NG tubes?

    Related Topic
I've had anorexia nervosa for 10 years and am constantly on NG tubes which I receive 80% of my nutrients through. However, I CANNOT work as a nurse with an NG tube in and I CANNOT work without one as I always end up in hospital with rapid weight loss and severe malnutrition. I want to know if I would be eligible for a PEG tube so I can continue work, socialising with friends and not be so scared to leave the house because of the looks I get. I'm from Perth WA and I need to find a gastro surgeon who will help me. However, firstly I need to know if they would consider a PEG in an anorexic patient? Obviously, I have done an incredible amount of research, thinking and talking to my support network (fiance, family and friends) and I think this is my only option to have a quality of life.
