How do I trust Drs and nurses after having been physically abused previously?

Lack of trust and fear drs & nurses due to physical abuse. How do I feel safe around them when I know no one is there to protect me from this happening again. How do I forget that this happened?

This is just a thought (I have no experience of physical abuse/PTSD) but you might find it comfortable to arrange to have a trusted friend or family member sit with you while you are being examined by a nurse or a doctor.
