How can I prepare for gall bladder surgery?

Hi, I am 21 years old and I am having my gall bladder removed this coming Friday. I have read experiences from other people and I probably just scared myself even more. I am just wondering if anyone had any advice, instructions etc for me to use before and after my surgery and is there anything I should be prepared for post surgery? (Certain pain etc) Also, is there anything I can do to prepare for when I return home? any food or pain relief i should have ready? ( Heat packs, ice packs etc?)
